Xindanwei: The City Is My Office

Xindanwei, which literally means “New Work Unit,” is a co-working community which promotes and facilitates creativity, sharing, and the great scale of collaboration.

Co-working is more than just sharing physical space together; it’s a new way to connect with other out-of-the-box thinkers and proactive doers, which makes work not only more creative and productive, but also a whole lot more fun for everybody.

The core idea of Xindanwei is to combine the best elements of a workspace (productive, functional) with a social media platform (hybrid, real-time, efficient) and a creative hub (social, energetic, creative).  This gives people their own workspace in a community, while also providing opportunities to share knowledge face-to-face, and to get inspired through collaboration with other members. A Xindanwei membership is evaluated and adjusted based on the value of each member’s contributions and interactions in the community.

What does Xindanwei membership offer?

1. Real-time Office, Real-time Interaction

Xindanwei offers you a cool place with free high-speed wifi to work and to meet people. Professional printing/copying and  scanning services are provided as well. Forget about the hassle of setting up an individual office. At Xindanwei, all you need to do is go online to reserve some time, then walk in the door and get to work.

Our full-time members can use Xindanwei workspace as their business addresses and put their logos on the entrance wall. They also have unlimited access to Xindanwei’s work and meeting facilities. Compared to working from home or from a local tea or coffee shop, a Xindanwei membership is far more professional.

In order to maximize the mobility and connection of ideas, Xindanwei is developing technology to allow members to check in and out at any time and pay instantaneously for the working hours they spend at Xindanwei. The Xindanwei website will serve as the central platform of communication and collaboration for Xindanwei members.

2. Networking and Creative Platform:

Xindanwei is run like a club by a team of passionate and creative people. From social gatherings to field trips, as well as weekly interdisciplinary creative events and seminars, Xindanwei memberships provide abundant opportunities to meet unusual and extraodinary people, learn within the community, or even host special events.

3. Project Catalyst:

From our point of view, providing the resources to assist people to get their own projects started is really important. We have come to understand that peer-to-peer support between Xindanwei members has proven to be the most highly valued resource for them to tap when developing new businesses. An innovative project can serve as a nexus point for diversity – a bit of “collision space” for often unlikely allies and their diverse spectrum of interest, ethics, and approaches. To achieve this goal, we are teaming up project teams and investors to make Xindanwei into an open, sharing and inspiring environment.  At the same time, Xindanwei is a platform designed to stimulate new ideas, conversations, and initiatives, as well as attracting resources and knowledge.
