“The pioneers of our time are not taking the world at face value, as a given from outside; rather, they see the world as something you can pry open, something you can tinker with.” (opendesignnow.org)
As one of the pioneering movements of our time, coworking has been empowering people and teams coming from very different backgrounds and disciplines to gather and mingle, not only for the purpose of sharing space and networks, but also of learning from each other and turning common insights into new realities or generating hybrid projects (co-learning, co-operation, collaboration). In the corporate world, developers are involving their end-users to design products and services for a specific, niche market (co-design or co-creation) and organizations are combining their products or brands (co-branding, co-marketing). The prefix “co-”, and everything stemming from it, has been emerging as one of the most relevant trends in our time.
In addition to the panel there will be an open discussion amongst the panel and Shanghai’s creative innovators about the possibilities and challenges of co-working, new forms of collaborating and the role of design & art. We are inviting a limited number of audiences worldwide to participate live via an skype by adding anxiaophotos on skype with msg: “join xdw event” , or you are welcome to use hashtag #xdw on twitter or Weibo to follow us. This hashtag will be used for all the future Xindanwei events.
This event costs 30 RMB and is by invitation only to the first 30 audiences who RSVP. If you wish to participate, please email to xindanwei@gmail.com your name, organization, title, phone number, email and list out what kind of input you would like to bring to the event. We will provide unlimited fresh coffee and tea on site for the audiences.
