Xindanwei Co-founder/CEO Liu Yan invites you to join the conversation with her friend from New York: Sharon Chang, a designer, media executive, brand strategist, innovation consultant, social entrepreneur, impact investor, and philanthropist. The conversation will be around social innovation, impact investment, radical education, co-creation and storytelling. Come to join us!

Bio: Sharon Chang:

Sharon is the Founder and CEO of Yoxi (www.yoxi.tv), a creative think tank to study and catalyze social innovation. Yoxi supports Social Innovation Rockstars (SIRs) by developing original content and instigating collaborations to drive social change through media and business. Its unique approach aims to generate broad appeal and deep engagement to define the pop culture of social innovation.

On the investment front, Sharon focuses on disruptive early stage startups with sharp design sensibilities, clearly articulated social missions and financial scalability. Her portfolio companies span sectors including education, health, technology and fashion, and reflect emerging global trends such as co-creation, the maker movement, and the sharing economy.

She is also the Partner and Creative Director of THNK, The Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership. She will be creating a THNK global impact investing fund in close partnership with Ben van Berkel (UNStudio). She is redesigning THNK’s Executive Program to orchestrate and propel global networks of innovators, entrepreneurs and activists to crack the world’s wicked problems with bold visions, and will be leading in the execution of this flagship program as a producer and master practitioner. She will also be architecting new partnership models with large corporates with the aspiration to deeply innovate their attitude and approach towards creating societal reach and relevance, as these organizations need to embark on breakthrough institutional learning to trigger sustainable economic opportunities in the 21st century.

Before founding Yoxi, Sharon was the Chief Creative Officer of 19 Entertainment, the company behind popular TV shows American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Her time working with high profile entertainment properties and incubating cutting-edge transmedia projects, such as If I Can Dream—a TV-Internet hybrid dubbed “the world’s first post-reality show”—positioned her at the forefront of entertainment and technology.

Prior to her tenure at 19 Entertainment, Sharon worked as a brand strategist and creative director in a number of prestigious global agencies. She is one of the most sought-after creative leaders in the design and digital marketing industry, with over 17 years of experience leading major branding and design initiatives for clients such as Ford, Pepsi, Sony, Motorola, Cadillac, Estée Lauder, P&G, TED, Starwood Hotels, Universal Music, CNN and Hulu. Sharon’s work is recognized internationally; she has been published in a number of design books and journals and is the recipient of numerous design awards including Cannes Cyber Lion, D&AD, and the One Show Interactive.

In addition, Sharon is the Managing Trustee of TTSL Charitable Foundation, sits on the Board of Trustees of New York University, and is a board member of a number of non-profit organizations, technology startups, and social ventures.

Sharon holds a BA in Studio Art from New York University and a Master’s in Interactive Telecommunications from Tisch School of the Arts. Her alma maters also include The Royal College of Art in London and Columbia University’s School of Architecture.
