On tuesday, April 27th, we sent a small delegation from the team to have a meeting with Gary Hu from SRCB and Mr. Lu who is the lulingdauo of Chuansha, another highly ranked government official to discuss the possibilities of working with a community in Chuansha District, in Pudong.
We had invited a translator, Betty which is very professional and has priory worked for The Red Cross in translating delicate conversations.
As a result of our meeting, they were willing to work with us and they found this new approach to community development to be fascinating and interesting. We foresee a possibility for a long term collaboration between the authorities and The Oasis Game.
They also thought that we must be crazy to think that we would have time to reach through all of the steps of the Oasis Game within two weeks. To some extend they are right – we are under time pressure, but with 35 motivated volunteers and the official support, we can make it possible in China!
The final choice of community has not been made yet. The government officials had been given our criteria for choosing a community and they will select one which specifically matches ours and their requirements.
Before we can start the actual work within the community, we need to get a final permission which depends on the relation of our project to the World Expo. Nicholas went to a meeting with the Danish Consulate to present the project and obtain an official letter verifying the collaboration between the Danish Pavilion at the Expo and the Oasis Game Shanghai.
Tomorrow we will hopefully have the papers which need to be sent to the officials -

And the Oasis Game can take off for real!!!!!!
