Trash to Treasure Workshop-Presented by SIP China, Kaospilot, D4D, LCDC, and Xindanwei

Time: 7:00-9:00pm Wednesday June, 2nd

Cost:50rmb/person(provide coffee and tea)

What:
This workshop will explore innovative ways of making useful items out of things that would normally be thrown away.  We will provide presentations on how designers approach creating things from trash and make activities that will give participants an opportunity to come up with their own ideas on how to use everyday items in new ways.

Schedule:
7:00-7:20pm     Welcome and networking

7:20-7:30pm    Introduction by Lauren Gross from the Kaospilots school for new business design and social innovation in Aarhus, Denmark

7:30-8:00pm     Presentations and Q&A:

Trash Presentation by Luke Cardew, innovator and designer working in Shanghai in his own business.  Luke will discuss why there is such a strong need for this topic and present his own experiences in design.
Treasure Presentation by Sudip Ghosh from Autodesk, a design and engineering software firm in Shanghai.  Sudip will present design approach and his experiences in creating treasure from scrap materials.

8:00-8:50pm    Creating treasure from trash!
Through exercises and activities, participants will get a chance to get their hands on some materials to create new, useful products.
Materials will be provided.

8:50-9:00pm    Presentation of ideas and Wrap-Up

i wanna turn all the thnigs i dont need any more in my room into something that could work for others or something sellable.
