The street is somewhere we walk, live, work, parade, jostle, and sometimes even collide. Shanghai Street Made project aims to show the city today: a precarious equilibrium, by putting forward the contrasts which create the energy and the unique atmosphere of this vibrant city.
After 2 weeks of intensive work, 15 concepts have been developed by the students of East China Normal University School of Design from product design, audiovisual and public art backgrounds. This is the FIRST time these prototypes are exhibited. They display their work showing broad interpretations of the Shanghai Street Made Life.
The work of this exhibition focuses on four main aspects:
- INSPIRATIONAL RESOURCE FOR CREATIVITY in all artistic fields, create applications which witness our time through the analysis of systems created by the language of Shanghai street furniture.
- HISTORICAL APPROACH since its goal is to show today’s era, to freeze a moment of history in continuous change.
- ECOLOGICAL APPROACH since the players themselves apply a process involving material recuperation and recycling.
- SOCIAL APPROACH as we observe the skills developed by the people in need in order to complete their everyday actions: earn money, eat, clean…

上海是一座极具当代性的大都市，各个时代风格迥异的建筑与来自世界不同地域的人们相聚在此，直至今日仍然日夜兼程地堆砌这个非凡的工程。上海是一个新潮与陈旧、高楼与棚户、跑车与自行车的混合体，这种高度的反差同时也产生令人敬畏的力量与美混合的魅力。上海的居民独特的生活设计美学渗入他们生活的各个层面：一些人为了生存努力赚钱，由此“设计”出种种好用的、奇特的物品和工具，用自己的方式对废弃物进行回收再生创造。上海“街头制造”计划是展示变动中的“现在进行时”，在不确定中寻找平衡，是对这个不断生长中的独特城市的各种对立问题的探讨。
在两周高强度的工作坊后, 华东师范大学的学生在产品设计, 视听艺术, 公共艺术领域创作了15个新的概念产品. 这次是第一次将这些产品原型和概念向公众开放. 他们用他们的作品良好的诠释了对上海街头制造的理解.
<strong>展览主要集中体现以下四个要素:</strong>
创意新思维：本计划通过对上海街区本身自存的创意美学系统分析，建立一种独特的创意语言；
历史见证：本计划重构这个独特时代的见证：是对一个即将消逝的变革时代的致敬；
生态学意义：可回收再生的生活态度具有生态学意义；
社会学意义：本计划通过对上海居民基本生活的细致观察：吃饭、洗衣服、赚钱……
